Delegation from Layou Vocational and Technical School, Shandong Province, visits Banteay Srei District to strengthen Cambodia-China cultural and tourism cooperation

Siem Reap: On the morning of May 28, 2026, a delegation from Layou Vocational and Technical School, Shandong Province, China, led by Mr. XU YUNGUO, Party Secretary of the school, visited Banteay Srei District School, Siem Reap Province, receiving a warm welcome from Mr. Rin Lot, Governor of Banteay Srei District, as well as many relevant officials.
 
During the meeting, the Governor of Banteay Srei District thanked the Chinese friends for always providing support and actively contributing to the development of Banteay Srei District, especially in the fields of culture and heritage conservation. He highlighted that in the past, through Dr. Chea Monirith, President of the Cambodia-China Association of Progressive Researchers, he has always facilitated Chinese friends to contribute and help provide opportunities for officials of the Banteay Srei District School to visit and study for a short time in China to learn more about the conservation of ancient artifacts, the preservation of paintings, and the design of souvenirs, which are important knowledge for the development of tourism and culture in the local area.
 
In response, Mr. XU YUNGUO, Party Secretary of the Layou Vocational and Technical School, expressed his strong will to strengthen cooperation with the Banteay Srei District Administration, with the Cambodia-China Association of Progressive Researchers as a bridge to connect and coordinate courses related to archaeology and ancient temple conservation work. He stated that this collaboration will contribute to promoting the exchange of experiences and the development of human resources in the cultural sector between the two sides.

Meanwhile, the Party Secretary of the school also pledged to cooperate with the association in attracting more Chinese tourists, especially from Shandong Province, to visit Siem Reap. He highlighted that the tourism sector will have even greater potential as the Royal Government of Cambodia plans to provide free visas to Chinese nationals from June 15, 2026, which is an important measure to strengthen relations and exchanges between the people of the two countries.

The visit is considered a new step in strengthening friendship and cooperation between educational institutions and local administrations of Cambodia and China, especially in the fields of culture, education and tourism, which will bring mutual benefits to both our countries, Cambodia and China, in the future.
It should be noted that with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, the Chinese delegation also visited Angkor Wat, Banteay Srei and other temples in the Angkor region.
