Kampong Cham: Mr. Un Chanda, Governor of Kampong Cham Province and Chairman of the Committee of the Cambodian Veterans and Retirees Association of Kampong Cham Province, on the morning of May 28, 2026, presided over the celebration of the 19th Cambodian Veterans and Retirees Day 2026 at Stung Trang District Hall, which was attended by provincial leaders, district leaders, and more than 200 veterans and retirees.

Mr. Un Chanda said on the occasion that the celebration of the 19th Cambodian Veterans and Retirees Day on this occasion is a national event that makes all Cambodians remember the great merits and invaluable sacrifices of the soldiers, civil servants and patriots of all generations, especially the veterans and retirees who sacrificed their lives, minds and souls for the cause of the nation, bringing peace and development to the present day.

Lo Un Chanda said that Cambodia has indeed gone through war and genocide, leaving behind many incalculable consequences. The historic victory of January 7, 1979, under the leadership of the Cambodian People’s Party, liberated the country and saved the lives of its people from disaster, and restored, built, and developed the Cambodian homeland to continue to prosper as it is today. This victory truly has the great contribution of our veterans and retirees, whose noble and noble merits we all always remember.

In addition, in 1998, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen successfully implemented the win-win policy, causing all types of armed forces and all parties, including veterans, to be integrated into the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, the National Police, and veterans, making Cambodian territory achieve national unity and peace covering the entire country, which made all people always remember The bravery of veterans in protecting independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and national development to progress in all fields until now.
