Mondulkiri: As the rainy season begins, residents of several villages in Keo Seima District have flocked to the forests and farmlands to collect wild mushrooms that are growing abundantly for consumption and sale to increase family income.

Residents said that wild mushrooms are a type of wild mushroom that begins to grow abundantly after the first rains. Every year, at the beginning of the rainy season, they often go out to collect mushrooms early in the morning, collecting from a few kilograms to more than ten kilograms per day, depending on the location and weather conditions.

The collected mushrooms are sold at street markets or by Vietnamese traders, who collect them at prices that vary depending on the quantity. and quality.

Ms. Srun Navi, a 24-hour vendor, said that at the beginning of the season, when mushrooms are few, the price can be as high as 60,000 riels, but when they are plentiful, the price drops to only 15,000 riels.

Some vendors stated that porcini mushrooms are a natural food that is popular with consumers because they have a delicious taste and can be used to cook many dishes, such as soups, porridge, steamed dishes, stir-fries, etc.
