Minister Heng Sour invites to inspect the production chain of THACO AGRI in Kratie province, which provides employment opportunities for approximately 20,000 people and transfers modern agricultural technical skills.

Kratie: Mr. Heng Sour, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, invited to inspect the production chain of THACO AGRI and meet with workers working for the company in the Snuol Poly-Agricultural Area in Khsem Commune, Snuol District, Kratie Province on Saturday morning, May 30, 2026, with the participation of ministry leaders, provincial administration leaders, and many company representatives to understand and examine the possibility of providing support as well as further cooperation.

The Minister highly appreciated the confidence and investment in Cambodia, which provides job opportunities for Cambodian citizens with decent wages, including former workers from Thailand, and helps boost Cambodia’s economic growth, while the company is also in need of an additional 7,000 workers this year. At the same time, Mr. Heng Sour emphasized that these works stem from the efforts of the Royal Government of Cambodia to attract and create a favorable environment for investors from all countries so that they can earn income to support their families and contribute valuablely to helping build the national economy. With operations in Vietnam and Laos, the company has a wealth of experience in agro-industrialization with modern technologies that it is bringing to bear and sharing, which is very important for Cambodia, which has traditionally practiced traditional farming.

The company’s representatives presented their strategic plan, which focuses on “developing local staff” to transfer techniques and develop management staff. When you start working, you will receive a proper employment contract, and the company will pay the full social security contributions for health care, occupational risks, and pensions. In addition, the company also provides food support by setting up a kitchen to provide three meals a day, accommodation, free electricity and clean water, regular health check-ups, training and retraining of new employees, and the establishment of a shop, a daycare center (kindergarten), and a first aid room on each farm. In response to the company’s request for labor shortages, Mr. Heng Sour recommended continuing cooperation with the National Employment and Labor Agency (NEA) in promoting the recruitment of workers through job forums, especially focusing on Tbong Khmum province, highlighting the same wages and benefits as in factories and enterprises. The training of additional skilled workers should be done through the TVET program for 1.5 million people in collaboration with institutes and provincial labor departments, by sending teachers to train in schools and companies directly, and the ministry will also consider issuing C1, C2 and C3 certificates. He also urged the implementation of the Work-Based Learning (WBL) model in companies, and the National Social Security Bank and the General Department of Labor should also directly register for the B.S.C. And issue work books to facilitate workers.

THACO AGRI began implementing an investment strategy based on organic principles and environmental friendliness in large-scale agro-industry (rubber trees, fruit crops, especially bananas), building processing and animal husbandry factories in 2019 on more than 90,000 hectares of business land in Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos, of which 43,764 hectares in Cambodia, including 10,708 hectares in Snuol district, Kratie province, and 33,056 hectares in Kon Mom, Lum Phat and Ban Lung districts, Ratanakiri province.
