The Ministry of Environment continues to strengthen law enforcement to prevent the release of more than 30 million cubic meters of contaminated water from flowing into public water sources.

Phnom Penh: From 2025 to the end of May 2026, the Ministry of Environment has prevented more than 30,823,868 cubic meters of contaminated water from flowing into natural water sources to protect public health and environmental sustainability. In particular, from January to the end of May 2026, the Ministry of Environment helped prevent more than 10,748,596 cubic meters of contaminated water from flowing into natural water sources.

Please note that the Ministry of Environment has strengthened strict enforcement of laws in accordance with the Environmental and Natural Resources Code And some legal standards in force in Cambodia, requiring all factories and enterprises with potential sources of pollution and discharge of liquid waste to install wastewater treatment systems and equip themselves with automatic water quality monitoring devices, as well as regularly inspect and assess water quality throughout the country.

High-risk factories, companies and enterprises have been equipped with automatic water quality monitoring devices And send data directly to the Ministry of Environment. So far, there are 59 locations and more than 10 other factories and enterprises have signed contracts to install automatic wastewater monitoring equipment.

Through collaboration with all relevant parties, especially factory/company owners, we have participated in implementing the law and implemented the environmental sector chakra strategy Launched in accordance with the Pentagon Strategy, Phase 1 of the Royal Government of Cambodia, the 7th term of the National Assembly, Cambodia can prevent tens of millions of cubic meters of dirty water from flowing into natural water sources, especially helping to prevent environmental pollution, protect the environment, the health of citizens, and contribute to the development of the nation with prosperity, turning it into a country with a clean environment, clean water, clean land, and clean sky for sustainable socio-economic development.
