Phnom Penh: Zachary Katz, Vice President of the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), continues to support the development of the health sector and promote the sustainable health of the Cambodian people.

On the occasion of Professor Chheang Ra, Minister of Health Allowing a courtesy visit, Zachary Katz, Vice President of the organization, thanked the Ministry of Health for its close collaboration with CHAI over the past two decades. The Vice President of the organization highlighted the progress of cooperation between the two parties in supporting the implementation of the Royal Government of Cambodia’s health policies and strategies.

The CHAI delegation highlighted the key activities and outcomes of the collaboration with the Ministry of Health, including: strengthening the primary health care system and integrating non-communicable disease services, supporting the national vaccination program, and expanding vaccination coverage. HPV, development of digital health systems and health information systems, strengthening health financing mechanisms and sustainability of health programs, development of medical oxygen supply systems and essential health technologies, and support for the preparation and implementation of the 8th Global Fund Grant Cycle (GC8).

In response, Professor Minister He thanked CHAI, which has always been an important and trusted development partner of the Ministry of Health in supporting the strengthening of the health system and promoting the well-being of the Cambodian people.

The Minister emphasized that the Ministry of Health is continuing to promote the implementation of the Health Strategic Plan 2025-2034 (HSP4), focusing on strengthening the primary health care system. Strengthening health human resources, developing digital health systems, ensuring sustainable financing, and achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

The Minister welcomed CHAI’s continued support, especially in priority areas such as: maternal, newborn, and child health Vaccination programs, noncommunicable disease management, development of digital health information systems, and strengthening the sustainability of health financing, in line with the priorities of the Ministry of Health and the context of changing global development assistance.
