Foreign: A drone explosion near Thailand’s Tak province border with Myanmar killed three Myanmar chili workers, including an 11-year-old child, and seriously injured two others yesterday, June 2, after a drone reportedly crossed from Myanmar into Thailand.
According to Thai news outlet Thaiger on May 3, 2026, officers from the Phob Phra police station, soldiers and security officials inspected a chili farm near the Thai-Myanmar border in Tak province at 4 p.m.
Police found a medium-sized drone about 10 meters away and officers also found a crater in the chili farm.
Police said a dispute had been brewing all day on the Myanmar side of the border. Workers were reportedly picking chili peppers on the Thai side when the drone exploded and crossed into Thailand, hitting a large tree and crashing near the roadside.
