Kampong Thom: After visiting modern agricultural technology projects and inspecting rice mills in Kampong Thom province, on June 6, 2026, Dr. Kao Thach, the Royal Government Delegate in Charge of the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (ARDB), led the bank delegation to accompany Mr. Vongsy Vissoth, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, Minister in Charge of the Council of Ministers and Chairman of the Royal Government Working Group in Kampong Thom province, to preside over the inauguration ceremony of the “Kampong Thom Entrepreneurship Support Program Cluster” held in Kampong Thom province.

The grand ceremony was attended by Mr. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, His Excellency Dr. Chhiang Vanmonin, Royal Government Delegate in Charge of the Executive Director of the Cambodian Entrepreneurs Association, Mr. Nuon Pharath, Governor of Kampong Thom Province, as well as Secretaries of State, Deputy Secretaries of State, civil servants, private sector representatives, citizens, farmers, students, and hundreds of students.

On that occasion, Mr. Nuon Pharath, Governor of Kampong Thom Province, welcomed the delegation and read a summary report on the provincial economic development situation as well as the progress of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and handicrafts in the province to the Presidium.

The provincial governor stated that Kampong Thom province currently has more than 4,000 small, medium and handicraft enterprises, which are playing an important role in promoting the province’s economic growth and development.

At the same time, Dr. Chhiang Vanmonin thanked the Kampong Thom provincial administration for collaborating in organizing the launch of the “Kampong Thom Entrepreneurship Support Program Cluster” to support and promote the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and handicrafts in the province.

The doctor also mentioned the mission of “Khmer Entrepreneurs”, which was established with the aim of promoting the entrepreneurship sector in Cambodia, especially supporting and building a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem to promote economic diversification, innovation, increased productivity and decent job creation. At the same time, Cambodian entrepreneurs also provide both financial and non-financial support to start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Vongsy Vissoth, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in Charge of the Council of Ministers, thanked the Kampong Thom Provincial Administration and Cambodian entrepreneurs for initiating the program. To create opportunities for people in Kampong Thom province to strengthen their production capacity and increase production for domestic consumption to contribute to reducing imports from abroad.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the private sector is a driving force and an important pillar in promoting national economic growth. Small and medium-sized enterprises and handicrafts in Kampong Thom province, as well as across the country, play an important role in creating jobs, increasing income, and promoting sustainable economic development, not relying solely on the public sector.
