Phnom Penh: General Tea Seiha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Cambodia, has rejected the statements of the media and some individuals in Thailand that “the Ministry of National Defense of Cambodia rejects the bilateral mechanism and is increasing troops and weapons to cause war soon.”
Through the social network Facebook on the morning of June 9, 2026, General Tea Seiha said, “For some time now, I have noticed that some media and individuals in Thailand are trying to convey a message that the Minister of National Defense of Cambodia rejects the use of bilateral mechanisms and is increasing troops and weapons to cause war soon.”
The Chief of National Defense of Cambodia confirmed the above point:
– Cambodia remains committed to resolving the issue peacefully, in accordance with the Joint Statement on the Peace Agreement in Kuala Lumpur on 26 October 2025, the Joint Declaration of the 3rd Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Boundary Committee (GBC) on 27 December 2025, and existing mechanisms.
– Cambodia hopes that both sides will be able to resolve the issue peacefully and absolutely avoid the use of military force.
