Kampot: Dr. Kao Thach, the Royal Government Delegate in charge of the Director General of the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (ARDB) and the President of the Techo Farmers Network Association, on the afternoon of June 9, 2026, invited to meet with farmers in Dang Tong district, Kampot province.

On this occasion, Mr. Chan Tha, Deputy Governor of Kampot Province, and Mr. Chhuon Than, Governor of Dang Tong District, were also invited to participate, as well as officials from the district administration, district police chiefs, district military police, specialized offices around the district, officials from the district’s agriculture, natural resources and environment office, commune chiefs, agricultural officials, and approximately 300 farmers from Dang Tong District.

During the lecture, Dr. Ban urged farmers from communes in Dang Tong district to think about organizing themselves into groups in farming and to think clearly about farming for profit and family farming.

In addition, Dr. Dang also asked farmers to think about traditional farming practices that use a lot of manpower and spend a lot of time in increasing agricultural products by looking at modern farming technologies that can help facilitate modern farming.

In addition, the doctor provided input to farmers on challenges and solutions that would enable farmers to profit from farming. The challenges that farmers often face are three main ones: (1) the problem of capital for agricultural production or products; (2) technical problems in production, including the use of fertilizers and drugs or techniques for raising animals; the problem of increasing yields and the lack of a market for sales. This problem must be determined in advance for products that have a market before deciding to increase yields; and (3) the problem of production costs, which determine the loss or profit of farmers in farming.

At the end of this meaningful talk, Dr. Kao Thach called on farmers to join the Techo Farmers Network Association, which was established to serve farmers. The association will serve as: (1) a bridge to find financial resources, access to new techniques and information, convey the voices and concerns of farmers to leaders, and be a bridge to other opportunities; and (2) an umbrella or shield for farmers, that is, to protect the rights or legality of farmers or protect them from abuse and exploitation.
