More than 800,000 horseshoe crabs no longer enter the sea in Kampot Province

Phnom Penh: More than 800,000 baby horseshoe crabs have been released into the sea in Kampot province to help improve the livelihoods of five fishing communities.

The five communities include: Prek Thnaot, Trapaeng Ropov, and Toeung Dang fishing communities The new kep fishing community and the new kep fishing community.

More than 800,000 horseshoe crabs that were released into the sea were raised by the Marine Aquaculture Research and Development Center (MARDec) after hatching from natural crab eggs. The release of baby horseshoe crabs to increase fisheries resources in nature aims to contribute to improving the livelihoods of fishing communities who depend on fishing in coastal areas to achieve greater economic sustainability for their families.
