Phnom Penh: General Vong Pisen, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, is confident that the Philippines will create a new history of the armed conflict between Cambodia and Thailand, which ended with the Philippines. The expression of confidence of General Vong Pisen on the occasion of allowing Rear Admiral GLENN Z DIZON, Head of Mission of the ASEAN Observer Group (AOT HOM) Philippines in Cambodia, and his colleagues to pay a courtesy call and discuss work at the Headquarters on the afternoon of May 6, 2026.

During the meeting, Rear Admiral GLENN Z DIZON thanked the Cambodian leadership for always cooperating well with the observer team during the mission, helping to organize and coordinate the team (AOT) to carry out its work effectively, safely, and in a good environment.
Brigadier General GLENN Z DIZON promised that during his mission mandate, he will continue to work actively and impartially, without any party violating any party, especially by further increasing patrols in the border area. In response, General Vong Pisen welcomed the arrival of the new AOT mission leader to Cambodia and highly appreciated the efforts and contributions of the AOT in the past. wp:paragraph –>
On behalf of Cambodia as an ASEAN family state, the General thanked the support of ASEAN member countries for demonstrating ASEAN’s solidarity, unity and commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the region, especially the tension of armed conflict along the Cambodian-Thailand border.
The General reaffirmed Cambodia’s position to resolve border issues peacefully in accordance with international law and existing bilateral agreements, and to adhere to the principle of borders not being altered by armed force.
The General also highlighted his support for and close cooperation with the AOT team to facilitate the implementation of the observer mission for the new mandate led by the Philippines, with the General believing that “the Philippines will create a new history of the armed conflict between Cambodia and Thailand, ending with the Philippines.”
