Kandal provincial authorities ask internet companies to join forces to prevent and crack down on online scams

Kandal: Mr. Kuoch Chamroeun, Governor of Kandal Province, has asked Internet service providers to cooperate with the provincial forces and competent authorities to prevent and suppress online fraud.

In a meeting with 23 internet service providers operating in Kandal province on May 6, 2026, the provincial governor said, “The main purpose of this meeting is to request all internet service providers to cooperate closely with the police and competent authorities to jointly prevent and suppress online fraud in Kandal province, with high efficiency in the spirit of the Khmer nation. The provincial unified command will continue to strive to implement the strictest and most relentless suppression measures against these illegal activities.”

The provincial governor advised internet service providers to pay close attention to network connections to customers with suspicious signs, such as abnormal nighttime connections. Secret connection without informing the company or competent authorities.

Especially in the case of internet usage of 100Mbps (Megabits per second) and above, the company must provide quick, specific, and accurate information about the identity and exact location of the request to the provincial Post and Telecommunications Department and relevant competent authorities for monitoring and inspection.
