AOT Philippines promises to inspect Cambodia-Thailand border to ensure neither side violates the other.

Phnom Penh: Government Spokesperson Pen Bona said that the Head of Mission of the ASEAN Observer Group (AOT HOM) Philippines in Cambodia has promised to carry out the inspection and observation of the Cambodia-Thai border after the ceasefire without any further violations by either party.

In a statement on the Cambodia-Thailand border situation on May 7, 2026, Mr. Pen Bona said that the Head of Mission of the ASEAN Observer Group Philippines, Rear Admiral Glenn Zi Dizon, thanked the Cambodian leadership for always cooperating well with the observer group during the mission, helping to organize and coordinate the AOT to carry out its work effectively, safely, and in a good environment.

He said, “The Head of Mission of the ASEAN Observer Group Philippines, Rear Admiral GLENN Z DIZON, promised that during his mission mandate, he will continue to work actively and impartially, without any party violating any party, especially he will further increase patrols in the disputed border areas.”

The Royal Government Spokesperson added that this assertion by the Head of Mission of the ASEAN Observer Group Philippines was made during a courtesy meeting with His Excellency General Vong Pisen, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces on the afternoon of May 6, 2026.

Please note that Rear Admiral Glenn Zi Dizon, Head of Mission of the New ASEAN Observer Group to the Kingdom of Cambodia, and three other officers of the Philippine Army arrived in Cambodia on May 5, 2026, after transferring and handing over their duties from Malaysia to the Philippines on April 30, 2026 in Manila, Philippines.
