Pursat: The Forum on Employment, Social Security, and Vocational Training under the theme “Khmer Help Find Jobs and Provide Jobs for Khmer” continued to be held at the Pursat City Hall, Pursat Province, on the morning of May 28, 2026, with the participation of citizens, former workers from Thailand, and nearly 800 young people. The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Leng Se, Secretary of State, the high representative of Mr. Heng Sour, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training.

On that occasion, the Secretary of State delivered an introductory speech and informed the entire ceremony. About the Royal Government’s continuous efforts to gather more than 90,000 local job opportunities across the country to provide to the people at the grassroots level. In particular, the Pursat Provincial Forum brought about 10,732 immediate job opportunities from companies, factories, large enterprises and special economic zones. He called on all former workers and citizens to consider taking up local jobs, especially in Pursat Province itself, where many large factories and enterprises are expanding. He highlighted that after registering to work legally here, former workers will receive three main benefits from the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), including the employment risk regime, healthcare regime, and pension or retirement pension, just like civil servants, which helps reduce both time and money for citizens in finding work.

At the same time, Mr. Leng Se also explained in detail so that citizens understand the risks of illegal migration, which is fraught with exploitation and lack of legal protection. Working locally not only provides a stable income, but also provides an opportunity for people to reunite with and care for their elderly parents as well as their dependent children. Currently, our country has many jobs but faces a labor shortage. If we turn to using these active labor forces to do legal work locally, it will contribute greatly to further promoting socio-economic development.

In case of wanting to work abroad, such as in Korea, Japan, Australia, etc., he reminded citizens to choose only legal companies that are properly registered. Avoid being scammed by illegal or fraudulent companies by verifying the list with local authorities or contacting the hotline 1297 for job matching and 1286 for the B.S.C. department.

In addition to job opportunities, the Secretary of State also strongly encouraged young people Let’s seize the golden opportunity to enroll in 1.5 million technical and vocational training courses or TVET programs at the vast Pursat Provincial Polytechnic Institute, in line with the strategic goal of “Every citizen has at least one skill for life.” This is a national priority program of the Royal Government that provides free training and monthly stipends in many marketable skills such as air conditioning repair, electrical equipment, construction, coffee making, baking, salon, makeup, hairdressing, nail art, and service sectors, etc. to ensure jobs and decent wages in the future.

Please note This important working forum received full cooperation from factories, enterprises, microfinance institutions, associations and major special economic zones, including Ventura Leatherwear MFW, New White Apparel, AKT, Sinky Apparel, San Pov Handicraft, Minebea, Microfinance Institution LOLC, TAFTAC Association, RGPPSEZ, Cheung Special Economic Zone Project 2, as well as Excel Asia Human Resources, a company that recruits legal labor to work in Japan.
