Phnom Penh: The National Blood Donor Center, in collaboration with One Mor Group (Vital Water), celebrated World Blood Donor Day under the theme “A Drop of Charity, Donate Blood, Save Lives.” The ceremony was held on the morning of June 12, 2026, at the National Blood Donor Center in Phnom Penh, in the presence of Dr. Sik Bunna, Secretary of State for Health, represented by Professor Chheang Ra, Minister of Health, and Mr. Sok Moosen, Vice President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, represented by Mr. Hun Many, President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, as well as the presence of Ms. Jeung Sokunthevy, CEO of One Mor Group (Vital Water), and many other volunteers.

Dr. Sok Po, Director of the National Blood Donor Center, warmly welcomed the chairmanship and all the philanthropists who made a gift for life and took all kinds of actions to promote voluntary and unpaid blood donation in the program to celebrate World Blood Donor Day under the theme of universal value and touching the heart: “A drop of charity, give blood, save lives.” This means that a drop of blood that each of us together gives from the heart is truly priceless. In saving people’s lives.

According to Dr. Sokpo, in 2025, the total number of blood donations nationwide was 195,175, with 64,011 voluntary and unpaid donors, equivalent to 32.8% of blood donations nationwide. The amount of blood used in public and private hospitals was 179,332 units. In the first 5 months of 2026, the total number of blood donations nationwide was 78,393 units, of which 16,246 were voluntary and unpaid donors, equivalent to 20.7% of the total blood donations nationwide, and distributed to public and private hospitals was 89,823 units.
Based on all these data, it is clear that the need for blood to save the lives of citizens in public and private hospitals is increasing every day. Although the rate of voluntary blood donation has increased, the rate of blood donation for exchange within the patient’s family is still as high as 80%. That is why the National Blood Center always urges, “Do not wait until you have a need for blood for yourself or your family members before donating blood.” Together, we must transform this movement into a habit of regular voluntary blood donation to ensure the stability and equity of the blood supply.

Ms. Jeung Sokuntheavi, CEO of One More Group (Vital Water), on behalf of One Mor Group would like to congratulate you on World Blood Donor Day under the theme “A Drop of Blood of Charity” Donate Blood, Save Lives! .
In connection with today’s meaningful theme, on behalf of a Cambodian citizen, Madam, please remember the sacred appeal of the Supreme Leader of Peace, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, to become the driving force of the blood donation campaign. Under the leadership of Samdech, the life and safety of citizens are always considered the main priority, as the 7th Royal Government is continuing and taking care of by Samdech Maha Prasad Hun Manet, Prime Minister. Likewise, the Ministry of Health, under the leadership of His Excellency the Minister, continues to pay high attention to public health work.
According to Ms. Chung Sokuntheavy, under the Siamese invasion, Cambodians continue to strengthen their solidarity and all circles donate both spirit and resources. In this spirit, the blood donation movement is a movement to contribute to supporting the heroes of the frontline troops under the careful leadership of Her Majesty the Queen, including the active participation of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia-USSR under the leadership of Mr. Hun Many, Deputy Prime Minister and President of the USSR. Apparently, tens of thousands of people from all walks of life, some of whom traveled from the provinces to Phnom Penh, are looking forward to participating in this precious donation.

Taking this opportunity, Ms. Chung Sokuntheavy thanked the white-shirted army, the medical team under the direct leadership of His Excellency the Minister and the ministry leaders for their tireless efforts to join the front lines in rescuing and treating our troops in that difficult time.
And today, we believe that what we are doing together is not only saving lives and giving hope, but also providing merit and a sense of gratitude to donors. In addition, it is jointly preserving the beautiful and shared tradition and culture of Cambodia, “solidarity and mutual help.” Blood donation does not affect health, on the contrary, it helps our health and body to be better.

Mrs. Chung Sokuntheavy would like to express her deep gratitude to the Royal Government and the Ministry for always paying attention and providing opportunities for the private sector to participate in promoting the health sector, especially the National Blood Center, as the direct executive unit, always providing Close and inclusive cooperation over the past decade.
Based on a realistic perspective of contributing to society without focusing solely on profit, Vital and Mi Cheat’s 25 Riel Foundation is committed to continuing to support the blood donation campaign and collaborate with all relevant parties. “We believe that a prosperous society requires participation from all walks of life and starts with all of us.”
