Phnom Penh: The National Assembly will meet to discuss and approve the draft law on amending the Road Law on June 22.
As outlined by the Minister of Public Works and Transport, the amendment to the Road Law will create a new turning point in the management of national infrastructure by clearly defining technical standards for vehicle sizes and introducing measures to restrict, monitor and crack down on overweight vehicles that damage roads and help facilitate road users to be safer, reduce traffic accidents and ensure the sustainability and quality of road infrastructure, which helps save the state millions of dollars in annual repairs.
