Minor Crime Police Arrest 4 Gangsters After Motorbikes Cause Anarchy Across the City

Phnom Penh: The Phnom Penh Police Department’s expert team has launched an investigation and arrested a group of four young gangsters after they violated the law by riding motorcycles and causing great chaos on public roads, affecting social order and safety.

According to a report from the Minor Crimes Police Office, the operation was carried out at 3:30 a.m. on May 7, 2026 at the Chroy Changvar Bridge, Chroy Changvar Sangkat, Chroy Changvar District.
The arrest was made after widespread publicity and criticism on social media regarding the activities of the four gang members (including three men disguised as women) who rode two motorbikes and caused chaos at the Phsar Dei Huy flyover on the night of May 5.

The four arrested youths include:
1. Name: Sim Chanrat, male, born in 2008
2. Name: Thon Chandara, male, born in 2008
3. Name: Kem Kunthy, female, born in 2008
4. Name: Chea Makara, male, born in 2008

Currently, the four suspects have been sent to the Minor Crimes Police Office of the Phnom Penh Police Station for questioning and filing a case according to legal procedures.

The competent authorities also called on other young people not to imitate illegal activities and cause insecurity to others, which could lead to legal liability like the above case.
