Battambang: On the morning of June 5, 2026, the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training continued to organize the “Labor, Social Security and Vocational Training Forum” under the theme “Khmer people help find jobs and provide jobs for Khmer people” at the premises of Wat Udom Meanchey Serey Mony in Rukkakiri district, Battambang province, with the participation of nearly 700 citizens, former workers from Thailand and young people.

On this occasion, Mr. San Kimhong, Undersecretary of State, High Representative of Mr. Heng Sour, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, encouraged citizens to seize local job opportunities, which number 9,490, from companies, factories, large enterprises, and special economic zones. He stated that legally working in the country will provide benefits to you through the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) in three regimes, including the employment risk regime, health care regime, and pension regime, which have similar protections to civil servants.

Meanwhile, He highlighted the risks of illegal migration, which exposes people to exploitation and lacks legal protection. Working locally not only ensures a stable income, but also provides the opportunity to reunite with and care for beloved family members. In case of intending to work abroad with high salaries, citizens must choose a legitimate company and verify the list with the authorities or contact the hotline 1297 for job matching and 1286 for the B.S.C. department.

In addition, the Undersecretary of State encouraged young people to study technical skills At Battambang Polytechnic Institute, through the “TVET 1.5 million” program, a free national program with monthly subsidies, including skills in air conditioning repair, electricity, construction, coffee service, salon, grooming and many other skills, including a previous skills recognition test (RPL) to ensure employment and decent wages.
